With a busy summer ahead of him, Daryl Morey now finds himself with some extra job security. Surely, this can free his focus to continue working the phones and potentially helping Houston become a greater threat as championship contenders.
This report comes just a day after Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reported that the Rockets are planning to offer James Harden an extension through that same timeframe. Keeping together this tandem for the foreseeable future seems like a great move, given that Morey is responsible for executing the trade that landed Harden in Houston. It’s also a sign of good faith from ownership that Morey’s excellent work will be rewarded.
As of this time, the details of the contract are not available outside of the length of the extension.
